DROPBOX vs SKYDRIVE vs BOX

What does one mean by the phrase Tech Savvy, in this world of computing and technology its all about being ready with what ever information be it your media files or your personal work docs ON the GO.
Yes we are talking about the latest craze the VIRTUAL STORAGE space, which has become rage since apple launched icloud quite a few competitors wanted in on the action enter DROPBOX , BOX.NET , SKYDRIVE, SUGARSYNC. and almost all of them have caught the eye of everyone by what they have to offer at ine point or the other.

Dropbox of all has stood above all just due to its versatality and ease of use, which sync all your devices (android ,apple,   windows xp 0r win 7 mac osx) device ,seemlessly with its autosync feature and allowing you to sync file of any size untill you run out of space on your account(ofcourse the new customers will be unfortunately be greeted with a 300mb max at time upload limit soon).that said the other con here is u only get 2,5 gb of space to start with. expandable upto 16 gb of space for free based on refferals (250 mb/per referal).but if u have a lot of cash and you r very serious about your storage there is always the option of buying more.
pros
sync seemlessly across alldevices- media, docs, even apps aks files
multiple file upload
auto upload of cameera clicks(if u wish)
sharing files folders with friend or your boss by the puch link feature
syncing your POCKET account info to your dropbox(that is if you dont have google wallet yet)
Cons
2gb starting free space expandable upto 16gb with referals

SKYDRIVe: a virtual storage provided by microsoft.
to start with you r required to have a windows live/hotmail account to use it. greets you with 25 gb of free storage space. when it comes to syncing Microsoft has been partial by not releasing an app for android so you have to use your browse. or like me use BROWSE SKY DRIVE. but Microsoft has released an app for iphone and win mobile device.

sync with your online account and your pc is easy if you have win 7 for xp u will need additional software running in back ground.

pros
25 gb of space
multiple file upload
PC and VIRTUAL account sync on win 7
share files and photos as albums with friends
cons
no native app for android
requires windows live account
100 mb /file limit
reqires additional soft ware to run sync with win xp

BOX
similar to your dropbox. but only sync files to your virtual drive which you can access it through your browser on your pc.
syncing from android phone is easy by the BOX native android app.

best feature of all you start with 100 gb of online storage space

pros
native android app
100 gb of space

cons
MULTIPLE FILE UPLOAD IS NOT POSSIBLE
no desktop or pc syncronisation
sharing with friends is a bit of shabby,

Coming to the million dollar question can we increase the dropbox space other than the reffal and the buying method yes there is for that please refer to my post

Tethering and Portable Wi-Fi Hotspots Android 2.3

The age of tablets and ipads has dawned and there is no denying that the cake can be only as tasty as the dough  in it. Meaning with great features comes a bulkier price tag.of course there are a few like samsung galaxy tab and htc flyer which come with the sim card functionality.

Be it the new ipad or the asus transform boasting the best hardware out there or the low end or the budget tablets like funbook akash, ubi slate most of them lack the a basic functionality they come with no option to use a simcard hence no calls we can live with that but you are also deprived of the 3G and 2G GPRS data connection, ouch ! Since android is all about apps and internet gaming and social networking. And u r left with a new age GAMEBOY .

well fear not as most of these come with WIFI but its reach is just so much once u r out of ur office or your home your back to square one .

Enter tethering

Tethering is one of the easiest ways you can share your data connection or 3G connection via your android phone to your tablet

Here is how

Depending on your model of Android device and your carrier, you may be able to share your Android device's mobile data connection with a single computer via a USB cable or via Bluetooth: this is called tethering . Or share your Android mobile's data connection with up to five devices at once,by turning your phone into a portable Wi-Fi hotspot.

Share your tablet’s data connection as a portable Wi-Fi hotspot

1. Open the Settings application. 2. Touch Wireless & networks > Tethering & portable hotspot. 3. Check Portable Wi-Fi hotspot.

After a moment, the mobile  starts broadcasting its Wi-Fi network name (SSID), so you can connect to it with up to 8 computers or other devices. An ongoing notification is added to the System bar, to the left of the time.

When Portable Wi-Fi hotspot is checked, you can change its network name or secure it. by configuring the hot spot.

Uncheck Portable Wi-Fi hotspot to stop sharing your data connection via Wi-Fi.

Configuring your hot spot.
You can change the name of your mobile's Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and secure its Wi-Fi network.

1. Open the Settings application. 2. Touch Wireless & networks > Tethering & portable hotspot. 3. Ensure Portable Wi-Fi hotspot is checked. 4. Touch Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings. 5. Touch Configure Wi-Fi hotspot.

The Configure Wi-Fi hotspot dialog opens.

You can change thenetwork SSID (name) that other computers see when scanning for Wi-Fi networks.

You can also touch the Security menu to configure the network with Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 (WPA2) security, with a preshared key (PSK).

If you touch the WPA2 PSK security option, a password field is added to theConfigureWi-Fi hotspot dialog. If you enter a password, you will need to enter that password when you connect to the tablet’s hotspot with a computer /tablet or other device.
6. Touch Save.

If you want to tether your Android device via USB to a computer running Windows XP, you must prepare your computer as described.

USB Tethering with Windows XP

Windows XP contains the drivers you need to take advantage of USB tethering, but you must install a configurationfile before connectingyour phone to your Windows XP computer, to instruct Windows XP how to configure itself to use those drivers.

1. Download the following configuration file (tetherxp.inf) to your Windows XP computer. or right click on the link and choose "Save As".
2. Use the USB cable that came with your phone to connect your phone to your computer.
3. On the Android phone, press Home, press Menu, and touch Settings to open the Settings application.
 4. Touch Wireless & networks > Tethering & portable hotspot.
5. Check USB tethering.
 6. When Windows XP’s New Hardware Wizard opens, select No, not at this time and click Next.
7. Select Install from a list or specific location and click Next.
8. Click Browse to browse to the directory where you installed the configuration file you downloaded in Step 1 and click Next. Windows XP uses the configuration file to configure itself to support USB tethering with the Android phone. 9. When Windows XP finishes installing the software for Android USB Ethernet/RNDIS, click Finish.

You can now use the new Windows XP local area network connection provided by your phone via USB tethering. For more information about configuring networks in Windows XP, see the documentation that comes with Windows.

galaxy s2 boot loop or restart loop solution.

galaxy s II boot loop or restart loop

one of the biggest flaw of gingerbread 2.3.6 is after  you have installed a number of app say for example 200app and you think you are very tech savvy and you knew shifting the app to sd using an app app 2sd or any other way.

many people  have experienced a boot loop or a restart loop when switching on the phone after a complete battery drain even while charging.

so what is the problem most commonly if you have noticed this occurs while restarting and you see media scanning sd card scanning and there you go a restart loop.

other reason being the over heating while charging (another  flaw of gingerbread 2.3.6)

solution to the restart loop

1. recharge the battery outside the phone as i have mentioned in my sgs2 over heating section

2. when your battery reaches 2% switch it off don't let it turn off due to total battery drain . switch back your device on only when you have charged upto 5% of battery level.

3. clear the cache as often as possible . your browsing history ,app cache etc. use any app u like i prefer android assistant .

4.long term cure .

A)shift some of the most important apps like ur browser ,most commonly used cam apps, messaging app, messenger app, any app having a widget shift them to ur phone memory. remember you are having 1.97 gb of space in your phone s internal memory.

and about games which have data of somewhat about 30 to 40 mb shift them to ur phone memory.
larger games of more than 100 better keep them to ur sd card phone memory.

B) there is a folder in your sd card called .android secure open it. it is the place where the data of the app is saved after you have moved it to sd card. here please check out those obsolete app data which you have uninstalled but still exists , just find those app data and delete it

5. if you are in a hurry .

a short term cure is the moment your phone is ON quickly go to

settings>storage> unmount ur sd card and wait for 5 min.

clear or kill running apps via task manager.

now go back to settings storage MOUNT SD card.

viola though this thing works 7 out of 10 times.

once u r vexed like me u can always follow  my long TERM cure above.

now if you are curious why this happens some say since the wifi antennas and sd car reader is very near hence the heat.
next if a lot of app data is on the sd card rather than your phone this leads to increase loading  time.
hence the crash.

INSTAGRAM ON ANDROID

Well I feel the wait is finally over for the most awaited app on android.. INSTAGRAM.. We since I had an allergy to apple iproducts had never experienced in what INSTAGRAM could do but then I always had listened to the fan boys say apples intagram this INSTAGRAM that but the final trigger to my intrested started when a British university started offering a course in photography based on how to use INSTAGRAM that rang some bells that it must have something that the whole icommunity is bragging about and I don't feel different the app is really good has umpteen number of filters and a number of edit options though the interface needs some work.. And what else this app is like a photo editor with its own LIGHTBOX, meaning u can share the pics with your loves ones and also share it with the world if you please. It's like flicker all over.. Though I did see some people obviously, the previous I fanboys who said that it lacked certain functions. Hmm INSTAGRAM if you have to compete with other paid cam apps this is the time when people will try to install you out of sheer popularity and don't let them get disappointed later on.. In conclusion I can only say this it is an awesome app but it also needs some adjustments or improvements.
